Entry for April 17, 2008
Sometimes I need big clues to where I'm going in life. This week I've heard two great messages that have blessed my heart and encouraged my ministry. The first was from Dr. Russell D. Moore, from Exodus 32. I was really challenged to reflect upon my goals in life and make sure I don't have a "golden calf" I'm hanging on to. Accordingly, I should be satisfied with the work God is doing in my life right now. The second message was from Dr. Chuck Lawless. Preaching from 1 Corinthians 1:1-9, Dr. Lawless challenged his listeners to 1) remember God's gracious calling on their lives, 2) remember our work is about God and not about us, and 3) remember to love God's people. He stated that our work is "of God, by God, through God, and for God." I was really encouraged by this message to remain focused on the work God has called me to do here in Ratcliff. I thank God for calling me to serve Him here. To God be the glory.
